Stellantis has withdrawn from all North American auto shows. Conspicuously absent from the LA Auto Show and SEMA, Stellantis has also passed on the Consumer Electrics Show (CES). The Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger were also recently discontinued. Ram is retiring the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine after 2024.

These events occurred after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fined Cummins $1.7 billion for cheating on diesel engine emissions regulations on RAM heavy-duty trucks. The solvency of Cummins is uncertain. RAM 2500 and 3500 HD trucks have more than a year of inventory on hand.

Sixty days of inventory is the industry norm. Jeep sales have been in decline for the last nine consecutive quarters. Dodge is left with just two models, an Alpha Romeo-based crossover, the Dodge Hornet, and a body-on-frame SUV, the Durango. Chrysler has only one model, the Pacifica minivan. The future for these storied American brands looks grim.
